Lake Mead

When we were in Vegas we spent some time close the amazing Lake Mead. We checked out the Hoover Dam (amazing!) and then the kids and I went to Lake Mead.

Thanks to Annie being a 4th grader... we are all able to get into The National Parks for FREE!!!! They call the program Every Kid in a Park. Fabulous timing if I do say so! :)

We did the kids first Jr. Ranger badge here as well... here they are being sworn in. Super cute. The program is just awesome... they learn and I feel better about not making them do too much school that day.

We drove through the state park and discovered it was massive.... we turned around at the red rock hiking area after climbing some rocks....

and watching some birds...

and checking out animal tracks...

It was a great first National Park experience!
